New Years Resolutions & 21 Day Fix Alfredo Sauce

As mentioned in a previous post I am going to share with all of you my 2015 goals & vision board. Although it only took a few minutes to actually make my vision board, I took a lot longer in the process of figuring out what I truly wanted to accomplish in 2015. Some of these might seem minor, but I picked goals that are realistic and ones that not only will make me happy but also my family. This year isn't just about improving myself but also my family and home. 

I know that some of you have already seen this vision board, since I posted it on my Facebook Fanpage, but I figured I would post it again on here since some of you are not on Facebook. :)

-I have been asked a lot lately about what program I used to do my vision board. To create this I just used a free phone app, PicCollage.

There are a few other goals I have for 2015, but I ran out of room on my vision board. These goals are primarily focussed on improving my blog and relationship with all of you. I have not been that into YouTube but I have decided that once I fight this chest cold I will start doing weekly vlogs to share my story. I will post these vlogs on here when weekly as well, so you don't have to visit multiple sites. Also, as some of you have already noticed I have added a new recipe section for low calorie recipes. The new recipes will bounce back and for between the low calorie section and the 21 Day Fix. This weeks' recipe actually fall under both categories and I will be adding it under each section. 

By the title of this weeks blog, I am sure you already know that the new recipe of the week is 21 Day Fix Alredo Sauce. It has been a very long time since I have been to the Olive Garden so I figured instead of going there and blowing my healthy eating out of the water, I would create a Fixed Approved/Low Calorie dish that would satisfy my taste buds.

21 Day Fix Alfredo Sauce
Serves 6 (1 serving is 1/2 cup and equals 1 yellow, 1 blue 1 tsp)


  • 1 Cup Low Fat (1%) Milk
  • 1 Cup Low Fat & Low Sodium Chicken Broth (free)
  • 2 Tablespoons flour (either whole wheat, rice, almond, or any other fixed approved flour)
  • 1 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese {the real stuff not the powder kind ;)}
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder or (1 clove fresh garlic minced* see note at bottom)
  • 1 tablespoon of organic butter
  1. In a large pan add milk, chicken broth, and butter. Bring to a slow boil and slowly stir in flour and garlic powder until mixed well. 
  2. Bring it down to a low boil and add in cheese and continue to stir until melted and mixed well with other ingredients.
  3. Serve over your choice of fixed approved pasta, veggies, and/or protein. **
*If you use the fresh garlic instead I would first take the butter and sauté the garlic in the pot as the first step. Then add the rest of the ingredients in step one. 

** The containers per serving above only reflects the sauce (3/4 cup).
